1. Download the map for cs 1.6

First decide which card you want to install. You can find them on our website in the section maps for cs 1.6 . Typically map files have a .bsp extension and can be packaged into an archive.

2. Unpack the archive

After downloading the map, unpack the archive using programs such as WinRAR or 7-Zip. You will receive one or more files that need to be installed. Most often this is:

  1. .bsp is the main map file.

  2. .txt - text description or instructions (not always).

  3. .wad - additional map textures (if needed).

3. Move files

Move the map files to the following directory:

  1. For Non-Steam version: C:/Program Files/cstrike/maps

  2. For Steam version: Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Half-Life/cstrike/maps

4. Set up additional elements (if necessary)

  1. File .bsp needs to be placed in a folder cstrike/maps. This is the main map file.

  2. If the archive contains a file .wad, move it to a folder cstrike. This file contains additional textures.

  3. Files .mdl, if they exist, are moved to the folder cstrike/models. These are the models that are used on the map.

  4. Audio files with the extension .wav must be added to the folder cstrike/sound. These files are used for the sounds on the card.

  5. Sky texture files (usually have sky) - move to folder cstrike/gfx/env.

  6. Graphics files (gfx) - place it in the appropriate folder cstrike/gfx.

5. Launch the game and check the map

  1. Open Counter-Strike 1.6.

  2. In the console (~) enter the command: map map_name

Tips and tricks

  1. Backup: If you need to replace existing files, make a backup copy of the originals.

  2. Compatibility check: Make sure the card is compatible with your version of CS 1.6.
